ISIEM2018 is organized by the Society of Inorganic Materials, Japan (SIMJ) and Ghent University.

Scope of the conference are the newest developments in inorganic materials and their production with an emphasis on the environmental impact. Researchers will present fundamental concepts alongside cutting-edge developments on a broad range of topics including nanotechnology, energy related materials, cement/gypsum and lime, sustainable chemistry, catalysis and novel processing techniques.

Extended lectures will be given by Prof. David Cole-Hamilton, Prof. Marcus Niederberger, Prof. Zeger Hens, Prof. John Kilner, Prof. Oliver Kappe, Prof. Fabien Grasset and Prof. Yoshiyuki Kojima.

Topics to be covered

  • Energy-related materials (SC, PV, batteries)
  • Sustainable chemistry and catalysis (photocatalysis, flow chemistry, catalysis, process technology)
  • Environment-related materials
  • Functional materials
  • Composites
  • Biomaterials
  • Cement/Gypsum/Lime
  • Structural materials (construction and building materials)
  • Nanomaterials - Nanotechnology
  • Materials processing (sintering, forming, powder, bulk, thin film etc.)
